"It seems that Brother Jason is taking care of the matter very well," Kanae's eyes were following her sister.

Kevin tightened his grip on Kanae's hand. Today, the two of them dressed appropriately for the banquet. Kanae was wearing a long sleeve dress that could hide her weapon while Kevin wore a suit. Neo was complaining that the two of them were too formal, but they didn't bother.

It was not like they were models who had to make sure that their appearance was top notch too. This kind of outfit was already more than enough.

He could see that Laura was still standing firmly in the middle of the crowd. Some people were looking at her with envy while the others admired her. There were many other kinds of gaze, but he didn't pay much attention.

"It's not easy."

"The life for people in the upper society is always filled with daggers at every corner. Everyone is waiting for you to make a mistake and once someone makes a mistake, they'll work together to drag that person to the very bottom," Kanae shrugged. This was how the upper society worked.

Outside, this place was coated with gold and beautiful jewels all around the place. But she knew the truth. This place was nothing more than a cover for the most dangerous place aside from Black Street. While the underworld clearly showed their dirty area, this place covered them with gold and sweet words.

"I'm surprised that you still can tolerate them," Kevin remarked.

Kanae shrugged. "I'm not really part of them because of my special status. But if you want to know more, I can tell you my experience."

"I already know part of them, there's no need for you to tell me more."

"Ok."

Looking at the nonchalant attitude Kanae has, no one would imagine that she was someone who got scorned in the upper-class society numerous times. No one would imagine how badly those people actually treated her in the past with how calm she reached. It was clear that she didn't have any remarkable features compared with her sister and many others. As for background, it was pretty complicated.

Right now, Kanae was wearing a long sleeves red satin dress that was tailored specially for her. The contrasting color with her skin caused her to look much beautiful. She wore light makeup to highlight her features, but it didn't do as well as her sister.

Even though she could be considered as pretty because her daily appearance was rather plain, she was not that rare of a beauty. There were many people who could beat her in terms of beauty, one of them was obviously her little sister. Still, Kanae didn't mind them all because she was satisfied with how she looked. It was already good enough for her that she didn't need to hide her features anymore.

"I want to eat some food," Kanae pointed to the side with a grin on her face. "Do you want to come along?"

Kevin smiled tenderly. It seemed that no matter what, the thing that Kanae thought about the most was always about food. He nodded his head slightly. "Let's go eat."

"Great, there are so many delicious foods in this banquet. I want to eat my fill."

"Make sure that you can still move around after eating. I don't want to carry you back to the room if it's unnecessary."

"Uh," Kanae scratched the back of her head. "I'll do my best."

Seeing Kanae's uncertain look, Kevin kept in mind to watch over what she ate. He didn't want to make her force herself to move even though she was feeling full.

When they arrived near the place, his lips twitched when he saw the amount that Kanae placed on her plate. If one didn't know better, they would think that she was starving.

"Don't eat too much. I'll order more food later," Kevin shook his head.

"I'm hungry."

Two words were all Kanae said before she focused her attention to the food before her completely. Not minding the gazes of others, she just ate quickly while watching the two representatives from the corner of her eyes.

Beside her, Kevin was standing to block her eating posture from the other. It was not too effective, but his cold stare made them look away. No one could stay calm under his intense gaze filled with murderous aura.

"I need some fresh air," George smiled wryly. "There are so many people in this place."

Jason nodded his head in agreement. There were too many people who wanted to ask for these two cooperation. Even though he had warned them to not get too close, they wanted only the best for them, so they kind of ignored his warning.

"I need to go to the restroom," Erica also said. "There's a women's restroom nearby, right?"

"Yes, just outside the hall," Jason nodded his head. "Do you need me to show you the way?"

"There's no need, I can go there by myself."

The two of them moved away and Jason was confused which one he should follow. From the communication device, he heard the voice from Kanae and Kevin.

"Don't follow them, leave them to us."

Kevin moved from his place to the verandah. When George said that he wanted to take a breather, the people tactfully moved away. They wanted to be remembered but not in a bad light. It would be better if they just made the way for these two rather than pestering them to no end.

The verandah was quite large with only several people staying there. George paid no heed as he walked straight to the fence. Putting his hand on top of them, he leaned slightly and enjoyed the night breeze that brushed his cheek. It was winter, but the weather was not snowing, allowing him to withstand the chilly wind better.

"It's beautiful, isn't it?" Kevin asked as he walked closer.

George turned his head and nodded his head. He didn't recognize Kevin, but he knew that the young man was not ordinary. The aura around him was screaming the word 'authority'.

"It's beautiful," George turned his gaze back to the front. From this place, he could see some rural areas and the garden near the hotel. Even though the capital city has a better view, it was pretty spectacular to see in the famous notorious city.

Kevin stood near George with his hand on the side. "I'm curious about your reason for coming here, Mr. George. I believe that there are many representatives that wish to come here."

George chuckled. "There are not many people who wish to come here, young man. We decided who will come using a lottery and I just lucked out to get selected as one of the representatives."

"Do you regret coming here?"

"No, not at all," George moved his gaze back to the garden. "If not because of my poor luck, I will never know that there's a beautiful city behind the famous notorious city. It's unexpected for me and kind of a fresh breather."

Kevin nodded his head. Even though the rumors were saying the worst thing for this city, he knew better than anyone that it was not true. There were still many good things about this city that people never knew.

"It's good that you enjoy your visit, Mr. George."

George smiled. "Thank you, young man."

While Kevin was talking with George, Kanae put down the plate that she had finished and wiped her mouth. She made her way to the restroom while keeping a distance with Mrs. Erica. Different from Kevin, she didn't have any interest in talking with the middle aged woman.

The restroom was not far, so it took her a short period of time to go there. There were a lot of rooms there with only one person inside. Mrs. Erica continued walking to the corner of the restroom and entered the room.

'It's pretty spacious,' Kanae thought to herself as she scanned the restroom. She hadn't used the one in the hall before because they always returned back to their room after they had finished. Seeing that the condition was not that bad, she was quite satisfied.

Mrs. Erica didn't take a long time in the room. After the woman came out of the room, Kanae was still playing with the water and pretended to wash her hand thoroughly.

When the woman had walked out, Kanae made her way to the restroom where Mrs. Erica used before to check the place.
